Bike Wash Girlzzz
Every Wednesday at The Lube!
This year with a new twist: every month they'll have a bikini contest and this year they will have 2 beautiful bike washers at The Lube.
Come meet the QS&L Bike Wash Gals and get your bike cleaned up at the same time!
Family Time on Bikes
Family time. Not always our first thought when it comes to motorcycles. Most motorcycle events and riding focus on adult activities and there are lots of mothers out there who wouldn't hear of their babies in a 2-wheeled saddle even if their babies are 50 year-old well-abled men and women! (probably a few dads have similar issues but I'm pretty sure it's a mama thing mostly....)
Nevertheless, there are tons of families who ride together..families mixed with all genders and all ages rolling side-by-side. So when I read what Keith Larson wrote in the last paragraph of his letter of invite, I was most impressed by the thought of a charity ride that not only focuses on kids but encourages families to come ride in it together. Keith says "It's a terrific family day with a lot of husbands and wives and dads and daughters and guys and girlfriends and singles and lady riders and motorcycles of EVERY brand, style, shape and size. My daughters have ridden with me on every ride and my wife is along in the chase car with her dog Moose. These days have made memories we'll never forget. Join us and make some of your own."

You've been Specially Invited!
And so you've been specially invited by Keith Larson himself to join this Saturday's ride. He's a WBT-talk radio personality and an enthusiastic Carolina rider. You can read more of this invitation that Keith wrote to Jon on the homepage of TheCarolinaRider.com and you can register yourself and the rest of your family by going to The Ride for the Kids site. Saturday's weather looks pretty good....78 and partly cloudy. We'll be out there with The Carolina Rider's bus, "THE BIG RIDE," and we'd be pleased if you ride up and introduce us to your whole family!
I'm getting a number of requests for GROUP SUBMISSION FORMS! So, of course, I am re-running this again as promised since it's an effort to help you all. Thanks to everyone who sent in requests.
Yes, we have had a delay in getting forms out to you but they WILL get to you ... I promise! Everyone who has written in is on a list to receive as soon as that delay is cleared from "the road!"
Attention Riding Groups/Organizations!
Today I send a shout out to all of you who are part of riding groups, organizations, and clubs. It's time for you to show your stuff in THE CLUB ROOM which will be found under GROUP PAGES at TheCarolinaRider.com! We want to help you get the word out about who and what you are and all that you're doing in our Carolina communities.
Some of you are charitable organizations. Some social riding groups. Some of you band together for a cause. Some of you ride together for fun. Some groups are focused on specific towns, some on specific types of motorcycles. Some are loosely laid-back and some are very defined and formal. It's all cool........
The Carolina Rider CLUB ROOM
The Club Room offers space for motorcycle-related community groups to:

Got this info last week from one of our favorite Kyle Petty Charity Ride gals, Morgan. The charity has a new idea for helping folks participate in raising funds for The Victory Junction Gang Camp. Check it out:
If you're not familiar with Kyle Petty's rides or The Victory Junction Gang Camp, check out an article from our archives.
Also got a press release telling what the route for their big Ride Across America will be this year. You know, that man-oh-man-wish-I-could ride where you're treated like a rock star and you get to hang out with some rock stars and other celebs too! So, I hear they're leaving from Lake Placid, NY and ride to Amelia Island, FL. The press release goes on to say...."In addition to 28 total fuel stops, riders will make overnight visits in Corning, N.Y., Farmington, Pa., Irvington, Va., Wilmington, N.C., Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Amelia Island, Fla. during their 2,400-mile trek down the East Coast. Celebrities scheduled to join for all or part of the trip include ESPN NASCAR analyst Brad Daugherty, former NFL great and Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker and NASCAR driver and Bo-Dyn Olympic bobsled founder Geoff Bodine."
Cool, huh? For more info, see their website here.
Pretty weather here today. A bit on the warm side for Spring but that's our Carolinas, huh? Have a happy week. Enjoy whatever you happen to roll by ....
"Go on now, squeeze out every drop of sweetness on your ride today!"
I'm on Facebook ... "friend me!"
What's Coming Up
This Saturday is Keith Larson's Ride For Kids 9 starting out at Matthews Fun Machines. Jack Parks of Matthews Fun Machines and Keith Larson do a great job with this event every year and this year seems to to be on track to be one of the best. As FancyFree shares above, Keith has sent a personal invitation to The Carolina Rider family to ride.
Next weekend is the Independent Benefit Run. It starts out at Ben's V-Twin on Independence Blvd in Indian Trail. This year is the 18th ride and it will benefit Makayla Woodward and will end at at MMR Racing over on Central Ave. If I know Goose he will have that BIG Cooker fired up for some of that BBQ "so good you'll wanna slap your mama!" Ben, Goose, and Jay work really hard on this event every year. Be sure you put it on your ride calendar.
A little further down the road ... June 3rd and 4th The Carolina Rider "BIG RIDE" bus will be in Lincolnton for the huge Hog Happenin'. Be sure to come by and say hello... you just might win a really cool prize!!
And a whole lot further down the road ... we've been asked to be a media sponsor of the SC State HOG Rally being held in Spartanburg, SC in Oct. Look for more stories and details to follow.
So I'll end by bringing it back to this week: This Wednesday night at Quaker Steak & Lube is the first BIKINI CONTEST of the season. Yes, scantily-clad chicks. I'll be there. Won't you?
