Calling all TV Lovers

American Pickers. We had a little bit about it not too long ago in Kibbles 'n Bits. It's a new show on The History Channel that'll race your junk-loving engines big time!

I have to admit, I'm a junk thrill-seeker. I'm inspired by a good roadside find...whether it be in a real-for-real antique shop, a funky junkyard, or just trash-at-the-curb. There truly is treasure in other people's trash......well, SOME people's trash SOMETIMES anyway!

This American Pickers isn't just about motorcycles...but they show a good share of fun bike-lover junk plus just good junk that any ol junk-lover would dig. Sure, just like too many reality shows out there, there's way too much unnecessary dialog when all ya wanna do is hear about the old stuff; but it's worth a watch.

A Trivia Question for Summertime Fun

So, I'm throwing out a little Summertime Trivia Question just for fun this week. While you're lounging around the pool with nothing but your thinking cap on or hanging out with a cold one on McKoy's awesome new covered veranda, see if you have any answers to this: What TV shows can you think of that have had someone who rides a motorcycle? Come on guys and dolls, scratch your noggins and let's see who comes up with a good list. And no, I don't have list to check it against. I'm just the questioner.

Now, I'm not encouraging you to give up your ride to sit around and come up with trivia answers....'specially when the weather has been so incredibly delicious since the humidity dropped! Yes, it might be climbing back upwards again and we may find ourselves in hot-asphalt-hell again soon but chill while you can....maybe meander down some country road and see if you can find a good ol' junkyard that begs you to grab a little something to stick in your saddlebags.

"Go on now, squeeze out every drop of sweetness on your ride today!"

Summertime Trivia Question of the Week

......What TV shows have had someone who rides a motorcycle? ....

Readers Respond....

To a recent QOTW, Craig in Columbia shared this........"Funny you mention riding alone.  I just went on a solo ride last Friday and clocked in just under 400 miles…me, the open road, the trees, the fields, and all the really neat sites that make this country great!  It truly is a great way to de-stress and take your mind off anything you might think is a pressing matter in your life."

Eddie responded to our quest regarding what ya'll did for the first day of Summer this year: "The beginning summer solstice I began with a special project I do every summer with my little boy.  This year we are making a skateboard of sort with handlebars and shoots out bubble gum. That Tuesday night was spent riding my Cafed out HD Sportster (the only one in town I might add) with my buddies to ride into Iron Thunder saloon for steamed, .10 cent shrimp while enjoying the view."

Life Is Good

10% unemployment really means 90% employment!! Yes, I know it's bad! But I have heard enough bad news. I got on my bike to make a sales call today, it was hot, traffic was bad, people in cages doing stupid stuff. It was GREAT! Being able to get on the bike and ride. Sooner or later things will be better, why not now? I know they are not the best but a least we can get up in the morning.

So let's just not participate in the bad news stuff!!

Lots of good motorcycle stuff going on. So find out where The Carolina Rider is going to be this week and come join us we can smile and laugh together!

Until then, keep the shiney side up!!
