Sunshine on Chrome

I'm sooooo impatient. "Good things take time they say." Well, sure, but sometimes it's like waiting for the night to pass so you can roar out on another day's sweet ride! Waiting till dawn when once again you see that gleam......sunshine on chrome!

And so it is with The Carolina Rider "Club Room" that I have been plugging for months. We have a menu tag for it on the website ... and rider groups have written in and requested to get into it .... and some organizations have completed their Group Submission Forms for us ... and the design is complete BUT ..... and then there's the show stopper. Some projects are quick 'n easy. Some require more hands and time, minds and monies than you might think. This is one of those way-more-complicated-than-anticipated ones.

And so I must be patient. I must wait for the "sunshine on chrome!"

Here's what you can look for in the near-ish future...... clicking on the Club Room menu tab on our website and finding a listing of groups, organizations, and clubs of motorcycle riders in The Carolinas. You'll be able to see their logos and mission statements, photos and event announcements...and much more.

In the meantime, to satisfy my impatience, I'm going to give you a little taste of some of the groups who are submitting their info. Today's group is The Leathernecks Motorcycle Club International.

We're grateful to Rick Torrence for his patience and for sending in the following info...

The Leathernecks Motorcycle Club Intl., Inc.

Welcome to LMCI

The Leathernecks Motorcycle Club Intl., Inc. is a civilian organization with no affiliation with the United States Marine Corps, or any other Club or Organization. Our members are simply Marine Corps and Fleet Marine Force U.S. Navy Veterans, Active Duty Marines and FMF Corpsmen.

We Are A Family Oriented Club

We are absolutely nonpolitical. Distinction of class, nationality, race, or sect will not be recognized nor tolerated by our organization. Our members act in good faith with other members, and uphold the traditions of the United States Marine Corps.

There is no distinction of military rank in the Leathernecks Motorcycle Club Intl., Inc.

Our Members come from all walks of life, some are active duty Marines and FMF Corpsmen, and others are not. Some served in times of conflicts, and others served in times of peace. We ride all types of motorcycles both foreign and domestic. Two and three wheelers, and those with sidecars too. It isn't the type of machine that counts, it's the fact that we are Marines, with the love for the lifestyle of motorcycling in common. Many of our members, who have a love for riding and the camaraderie that comes with it, can no longer ride due to disabilities. Those members are also welcome, and often ride support vehicles for those of us still fortunate to be able to ride.

Our Members consist of a very special breed of person. In most Military Services, you can be all that you can be. But the Members of this Club who joined the Marines found themselves being more than they ever thought possible. Both Marines and the Fleet Marine Force Corpsman who wore the Eagle, Globe and Anchor have a very special bond and loyalty to one another that even we find hard to explain. Although we find it hard to explain it comes quite natural. And when you combine this bond with the love of motorcycling through the beauty of mother nature, in the country we would die for you've created a breed of person……..

"A United States Marine"

"To the crew at the Carolina Rider: I have been in Afghanistan, again, for a while now; I need to say thanks for keeping me in the mix and giving me something to look forward to when I get home (next spring). Your publication gives me and some others like me some great conversation topics and the pictures are very welcomed too. Keep up the outstanding work"

Bojangles Arena bringing OCC

These days, this family is mostly known for its fussing and fighting than for their bike builds ... but the Tuttles did catch the world's attention years back with their bikes ... and when Orange County Choppers first helped kickstart the reality TV craze. And now they're puttin' the show on the road with music and bikes and give-aways and vendors. The Carolina Rider is happy to help spread the word about this upcoming show October 22nd at Bojangles Arena. Check out the flyer above, get your tickets, and we'll be telling you more to expect as we get closer to the date.

I'm startin' something new today.....Footloose's Video of the Week. Enjoy!
