What's up down South?

Helloooo South Carolina!!

The Carolina Rider first went online in August of 2009. The online magazine just celebrated a 2nd birthday and we are in the midst of our second full riding season. The Carolina Rider Scene initially jumped into Inboxes beginning February 23, 2010 so this weekly mini-mag also has two seasons of motorcycle months under its belt.

In all of these months and years, we've been focused on THE CAROLINAS...both of 'em! That's who we are and what we're about. We're based right on the border of NC and SC - Footloose and I standing back to back could just about spit into both states without much effort (well, if I were the spittin' kind, that is .. and you know Mama taught me better'n that!!!)

We have tons of subscribers in SC and NC. And yet, as I peek at the events that The Calendar Girl brings to us today (see below,) I'm left wondering what's going on down South? I am certain there's much more going on in SC than is listed on The Carolina Rider CALENDAR. I am absolutely and positively certain that you SC brothers and sisters aren NOT timid. So what's up, South C?

And so today, I'm sending out this little cry for READERS IN SC to give me a holler. Tell me what's up in your neck of the woods,. Just share any little thing you can with the readers of The Carolina Rider Scene about SC riders, riding, and rides!

Write me, South Carolinians, and Win a Prize Package!

Of the folks from SC who write me before 10/10/11, I will be giving away a cool prize package: A night at Maggie Valley Inn plus tickets to Wheels Through Time Museum (WTT) plus a WTT shirt and hat and a women's tank top from The Carolina Rider! Soooo.... a little incentive, South Carolinians! Write me and tell me what's going on down there......

Suck Bang Blow Smokehouse (SBB)

We are happy to announce our newest Sponsor, SBB Smokehouse! After SBB has tried the Wednesday night bike nite circuit with much success, they have just recently opted to change their bike nite to Friday nights. We are proud to help them in their quest to be a bike destination on Friday evenings. This by no means negates the wonderful bike night that McKoy's has on Friday nights but will just be a great added addition to the biking scene. A cool Autumn Friday night is definitely a good time to wander around to more than one venue and enjoy the ride around the QC!

Be sure to look to The Carolina Rider for great promotions and event info in and around SBB ... and drop by for lunch or dinner too and tell the SBB staff and management that The Carolina Rider sent ya!

I've got a Video of the week

this week! - it's a heart-warmer

TOBY

Don't forget! ... we're just a couple weeks now from THE RIDE to hear TOBY Keith at Verizon Wireless on October 7th!

Here's what you need to know....

We're giving away tickets this week and next to subscribers who write in and to those we draw from entries at Quaker Steak & Lube bike nite.

H-D of Charlotte is selling Lawn Tickets. You can get them there or you can get them at the box office or through Ticket Master.

After you have your tickets, go to H-D of Charlotte (9205 E. Independence Blvd, Matthews, NC) and sign up for THE RIDE. As of today, there are only 12 people signed up for the ride. Come on folks!

Once we get to Verizion Ammphitheater, everyone on the ride will be directed to the Bike VIP parking. The first 100 to sign up for the ride will get:

  • a special t-shirt (see the shirt design below,)

  • entrance to the VIP lounge and

  • a chance of up-graded tickets plus

  • 2 lucky people will get to meet him

Gonna be a good time for all and a really good time for some!
