Winning!

Now hear this .... do ya wanna join the ride to hear Toby Keith this Friday? There are only a handful of folks signed up for the ride....and we have about 70 more t-shirts and ride slots available!! Perhaps you haven't heard? Sure, I know not everyone will jump on this opportunity for a whole host of reasons .. but I am pretty darn sure that there are lots of folks out there who would LOVE to have a special commemorative shirt and chances to win even more cool opportunities including MEETING TOBY HIMSELF! If you are a fan of Mr. K, I'm guessing you'll wanna hop on this pronto. And I encourage you not to delay. Head on down to Harley-Davidson of Charlotte and sign up for THE RIDE. You can purchase your lawn tickets there too or go to TicketMaster if you prefer. Check out the flyer above for all else offered with this opportunity.

In the meantime, enjoy his American Ride MUSIC VIDEO......

Great time to ride!

I'll be out on my bike tomorrow. It's that time of year that I've just gotta find a way to make it happen. Way too often I find myself in that cage of a car because what I've got to do requires it .. gotta take someone with me or get a week's worth of groceries or stop for garden supplies or chicken feed. And way too often I just get lazy and hop in the car rather than going through what I "think" might be too much trouble to get my bike out. Yep. I guess I'm a lazy, fair-weather biker. Still, I love the ride. And tomorrow I will be on the road with sun on my shoulders and the corners of my mouth turned up with joy!

"Go on now, squeeze out every drop of sweetness on your ride today!"

"This piece of Milwaukee Iron is a 1981 FL Shovelhead.

It has seen a lot of black top in those 30 years and it still has style and heart."

"Troublehead" Story by Stealth

Photos by Vicki

I stumbled across this bike one Sunday afternoon at Lake Wylie. The turquoise paint job caught my eye and I introduced myself to the owner, Ronnie Rockett. Yes, that is his real name and with a name like that, the bike had to have some performance modifications.
This piece of Milwaukee Iron is a 1981 FL Shovelhead. It has seen a lot of black top in those 30 years and it still has style and heart. That is what I like about Harley-Davidson motorcycles. No matter how old they may be, they never go out of style and their style is timeless. I admire anyone who has an older bike for keeping it rolling down the asphalt ribbon. They keep the history alive.

This old Shovelhead has some heavy duty equipment: dual plug heads, 3" Primo primary belt drive, S&S carb with Hyper Charger. The Shovel is a kickstart-only bike and she fires on the first kick as I saw Ronnie bring the bike to life. With every kick the bike reminds me of days past. Nowadays you don't see kickstart bikes very often but when you do, it is a thing of beauty. Once the bike fires up, the sound is pure Shovelhead blasting out of those drag pipes.

Ronnie tells me while working on the flywheels he lost the end of a finger and he calls his bike "Troublehead." Ronnie and the shovel have long since bonded and make a great team.
At one time I owned a 1982 Shovelhead and the bike you see here brought back a lot of memories for me. Thanks to Ronnie and his bike for that!

Come on, People!

Check out some new articles online about a couple events I know you'll want to know about ... The Twin Peaks Charity Ride is October 22, The Biker BOOberFest is October 29. Flyers are above too. Good events for a good time with good looking women and good looking bikes. I can't see what more I've got to say to get you there!

And speaking of getting you there, COME ON PEOPLE! There's 28,000 bikers on our email list that have heard about the ride this Friday evening. The weather is gonna be gorgeous. Getting to meet Toby Keith is a big deal. There are only 30 people signed up today. We've got 100 pretty cool t-shirts (see design below) to be given out to those in the ride. What do I have to do to MAKE YOU HAVE FUN?!!

I'd really like to see ya on the ride ....... I and The Big Ride Bus will be at the Amphitheater to greet you.

I've got a Video of the week

this week ... - cool "biker dog!"
