Let's be Friends!

New SC Friends

Greenville, SC tried their hand at producing an Easyriders show this past weekend. They chose to do a one-day event on Saturday and see how it went. Testing out the market there, I suppose.

The Carolina Rider was there. I enjoyed spending the day under the fushcia and black tent with our two beautiful and inspiring "Carolina Rider Spokesgals Supreme," Pebbles and Michelle! (Oh, and, of course, Footloose Jon too!)

I made some new friends Saturday.....all of you great passers-by who I had the privilege of meeting and chatting with; some briefly, some in more depth. Thanks for stopping and learning about The Carolina Rider .. and letting us learn about you too! Thanks so much for the supportive greetings from all you current subscribers who came to the show. We are happy to know that we are offering you something of value.

One new friend I made followed up first thing this morning by sending me something he wrote. I encourage you to check out this article by Wesley Ashley. I appreciate the realness he communicates...the human connection he conveys....things we can all connect with and feel. Thanks, Wesley, for taking the leap to express yourself and share it with other riders! I look forward to hearing more from you in the future.

New Facebook Friends

Have you been Facebooked? FancyFree now has a Facebook account so please do "friend me!"

While the whole Facebook world can be odd at times - (you know what kinds of crazy posts there are out there! While I'm a deeply compassionate soul, I don't really want to know that your big toe has been hurting for a week with some kind of strange infection!) - I have overall truly enjoyed my personal Facebook page this year. So it was definitely time to get one for my role here with The Carolina Rider. You will see what a newbie FancyFree is when you hit my page...very few friends at this point. Well, I just got this thing up and going a few days ago folks! Please friend me and suggest me to your friends too.

"Change ain't lookin' for friends ...

She calls the tune we dance to!"

This is a quote from one gritty poet, Al Swearengen, of the sadly dead-and-gone HBO series Deadwood. It's a quote I love and use often since it describes the puppet master in all our lives: CHANGE. Can't get away from change. Change is ever-present. Ain't no gettin' around it!

So today I'm reporting a few changes......

1. The Ride with Open Eyes that I reported on recently has been cancelled. The organization that created and led it is undergoing some kind of change itself and has called a halt to its activities until a clear path is visible.

2. Chrome TV has bowed out of the bike scene. And along with Vince and his dreams, Lisa Z who was to write and coordinate for The Carolina Rider and Caring Carolinas has stepped out of her work in this area too.

In today's economic crazies, there's a lot of dancing going on. Change is throwing us this way and that like an over-enthusiastic and untrained dance partner. For all of us whose life dance is a bit out of control, our heartfelt care. We're all in this mad dance together - even when we feel oh-so-alone.

Have a wonderful week, my friends! Looking at the weather forecast, it might not be the most sunny week during the weekdays but this weekend looks to be a delicious taste of Autumn. Enjoy!

"Go on now, squeeze out every drop of sweetness on your ride today!"

An uppity venue for bikes...

There's a fancy-dancy car show in Hilton Head coming up that includes vintage motorcycles as well. Looks a lot like the upper echelon events one might see on TV where the narrator whispers while you drool over pristine old vehicles. The women wearing hats, the men wearing gloves. A bit hoity-toity but really really cool nevertheless! Check out Concours d'Elegance and Motoring Festival.

Still Growing

The Carolina Rider is still growing strong, The ecomony is still growing, (and no, I didn't say strong,) and the motorcycle community is still growing.

It seems like we're adding something new to our business and online presence just about every week - sometimes every day. Check out our newest addition: The Shop where you can purchase The Carolina Rider t-shirts and soon even more.

This past weekend we were at the Easyriders Bike Show in Greenville, SC and, as FancyFree shares, we got to meet a lot of new people/friends. For a first time show it was very good. If you signed up with our Carolina Rider girls, you may be receiving this e-newsletter for the first time today. Welcome! The Carolina Rider has over 15,000 riders on it's newletter list and and are looking forward to passing the 20,000 mark sometime next year!

This little e-newsletter is a weekly mini-magazine itself. The website, www.thecarolinarider.com is the big mama magazine that's always available to you and constantly growing.

Everyone (including our beautiful gals!) was smiling and having fun this past Saturday. We're all trying to grow our businesses and our friend connections.

It was a good event and I'm looking forward to January for the Charlotte Easy Rider Show!

Until next week keep the shiny side up!!
