A Ride in support of the International Lineman's Museum

Bikes Butts & BBQ Fundraiser & Ride April 19th

The International Lineman’s Museum is hosting its annual Bikes Butts & BBQ Fundraiser & Ride April 19, 2013. Come join us April 19th for a ride, raffle, door prizes, silent auction, 2014 StreetGlide raffle, and BBQ butts.

We’ll kick off the morning at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds (1751 E Marion St., Shelby, NC 28152).  Registration starts at 9:30 with kickstands up at 11:00am.  Cost for the ride is $30 for a single rider or $40 for two riders. Each rider to sign up gets an event t-shirt, a BBQ lunch, and a ticket for the door prizes. If you register before April 6th you get $5 off of the registration. Register today at www.linemanmuseumride.com.

An hour and a half ride through scenic Cleveland County and Kings Mountain State and National Parks will bring everyone to the International Lineman’s Museum (529 Caleb Rd., Shelby, NC 28152).  We’ve set aside 30-45 minutes for riders to visit at the museum, win a few door prizes, see the Make Motorsports team’s #50 Chevrolet truck, the car hauler, and enjoy some refreshments.

After another forty-five minute we will arrive at Skooterz Saloon (1851 E. Dixon Blvd., Shelby, NC 28152) around 2:00pm where the party will really start.  We have a ton of fun planned for the afternoon and evening, not least of which is the raffle for a Black 2014 Harley Davison StreetGlide (see details below to purchase a ticket).

At Skooterz Saloon our MC Mike Dunn, President of Sherman-Reilly, will preside over events.  We’ll have a live band, prizes, and delicious BBQ.  Door prizes include a Jewelry In Candles Tart or Candle, Winners Choice - Donated by Caroline Swain in loving memory of her husband Lewis Swain (1982 - 2014) and a $25 Applebee’s gift card, shirts and many more gift cards.

We’ll have a silent auction with such great items as a Certificate worth 2 Motorcycle Oil Changes - Donated by Trick 1 Customs (Lincolnton, NC) and TJ Bell's Fire Resistant Drivers Suit, worn by TJ Bell in the Nationwide Series - donated by Make Motorsports (Shelby, NC).  TJ Bell is joining us for the ride, so you’ll have a chance to meet him and possibly sign autographs during the day.  Raffle tickets will be sold to benefit the Fallen Lineman Foundation.  Tickets for the Fallen Lineman Foundation will be on sale throughout the day and prizes awarded at Skooterz.

At 3:45pm the reverse raffle for the 2014 Harley-Davidson StreetGlide will begin.  The grand prize is a Black 2014 Harley-Davidson Streetgilde or $10,000 in cash. The bike has never had an owner and the winner of the bike would be the first. Only 400 tickets are available at $100.00 a ticket. Purchase a ticket today at www.linemanmuseumride.com. Be sure to get your ticket early so you can join in the fun.  We’ll be counting down all 400 tickets before we announce the lucky winner.  Don’t miss the excitement!

Are you coming into town for the ride?  Or are you a local looking for something fun to do the day before?  Lineman Appreciation Day is April 18th and the International Lineman’s Museum is celebrating with an Insulator Show the 18th and 19th.  The show will be open from 10:30am until 2:00pm on Friday and 9:00am until 2:00pm on Saturday at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds.  For more details visit www.linemanmuseumshow.com.
