An Open Invitation From Keith Larson

Thanks so much for giving me this chance to personally invite your Carolina Rider subscribers and readers to WBT’s “Ride for the Kids – 9” this Saturday, April 30.  We’ve had many, many hundreds of riders over the years, but I’d especially like to invite riders who’ve never been with us before to make this their first.  It’s a full day of most-excellent, everything included, fully police-escorted, Carolinas motorcycling fun!

The incomparable Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office Motor Patrol will lead us (with assistance from several other agencies) from Matthews Fun Machines in Matthews, through the country to the shores of Badin Lake and the Alcoa boat launch for our break, and then right through Uptown Charlotte to the WBT/WBTV studios for our barbecue and party.  Riders and passengers receive the official Ride t-shirt, coffee and donuts in the morning, munchies at the break, and the barbecue provided by Mac’s Speed Shop with live music from the popular Leadville Social Club.  All this – for only $50 per motorcycle, passenger included.  We also have $100 and $250 packages which let you help us raise more money for the kids and families, and give you in return loads of cool swag like exclusive long-sleeve Ride t-shirts, LAMA! hats, pairs of deerskin leather AND fingerless motorcycle gloves, and up-front ride placement.

Most importantly – the purpose of our Ride for the Kids is to raise money for families and kids battling life-threatening illnesses.  We ride for the March Forth with Hope Foundation (Hope Stout family foundation) and Zach Ramsey Children’s Cancer fund, both of which directly grant money to families of seriously ill children.  This year, we are also riding in honor of and to support six year old Jordan Jemsek, a beautiful young lady battling a rare adult leukemia, who has recently received a bone marrow transplant.

Something else I want you to know – because of our sponsors, including the Keffer Automotive Group (Keffer Hyundai and Keffer Volkswagen), Window Nation, Matthews Fun Machines/Team Charlotte Motorsports, Mac’s Speed Shop, Alcoa Power at Badin Lake and of course WBT – we have always been able to give virtually 100% of rider contributions directly to our charities and kids.

We leave from Matthews Fun Machines, 11240 E. Independence Blvd. at 10:00am and return to the WBT/WBTV studios approximately 2:00pm.  Day-of registration opens at 8:30.  For best shirt size selection please pre-register.  All the Ride package details and the pre-registration form are right here

I hope you’ll join us.  It’s a terrific family day with a lot of husbands and wives and dads and daughters and guys and girlfriends and singles and lady riders and motorcycles of EVERY brand, style, shape and size.  My daughters have ridden with me on every ride and my wife is along in the chase car with her dog Moose.  These days have made memories we’ll never forget.  Join us and make some of your own.

Ride safe and see you Saturday.
